Jan. 3rd, 2013 - The city of Ada experienced a horrific moment Thursday night - as a fire which begun around 6 PM entirely swallowed Triple Crown Nutrition and most of its buildings. Yet, firefighters from Ada and over 10 assisting communities kept the fire from spreading to the $4.5 million facility just constructed this past summer. The bravery of volunteer firefighters was shining at its brightest last night, as the raging inferno mentally and physically bent emergency personnel and the community as a whole - but it did not break it. Ada business' remained open, providing coffee and food to those battling the flames, as donations poured into restaurants to cover any expenses. Every single fire house in Norman County sent their engines, as did Moorhead, Crookston, Waubun, Ulen and Mahnomen. The fire took away one of the town's prosperous agricultural center, but it did not break its pride. Just as the city of Ada fell as one last night, it came together, and recognized the need to unite as one. That right there, is the true beauty of a small town.
